Instrumentation Industry Personality of the Year 2025
To top off the awards night, Xylem’s James Chapman won the Instrumentation Industry Personality of the Year 2025.
“Being named Instrumentation Industry Personality of the Year 2025 is an incredible honour and a milestone in my career. This recognition reflects the collective effort of the outstanding teams I’ve worked with at Xylem and across the water industry. Section 82 continuous river water quality monitoring is more than a compliance challenge – it’s a transformative programme that protects our rivers and inspires innovation. This achievement is also deeply personal; my journey began over 20 years ago when my dad introduced me to the water industry during a ‘take your kid to work day.’ That moment sparked a passion that’s taken me from a field technician calibrating sondes on the Thames Tideway Tunnel project to commercially leading a multimillion-pound river monitoring roll out programme in Section 82 today. It’s a privilege to contribute to safeguarding our rivers and to inspire the next generation to join this vital mission.”
