Europe is experiencing its worst drought in over 500 years, with significant impacts on agriculture and energy production due to reduced water availability. Recent rainfall has provided some relief, but challenges remain.

The Senior Water Demand Reduction Group (SWDRG) for England has officially closed after delivering key recommendations for improving water efficiency to government and industry stakeholders. The group, chaired by Nicci Russell of Waterwise, highlighted the urgent need for enhanced demand management strategies.

IWJS has been re-awarded a framework contract by Anglian Water to provide wastewater services until 2025, with a potential two-year extension. This partnership, lasting over 20 years, will support the maintenance of the wastewater network in the region.

AUMA Actuators has extended its Service Level Agreement with Anglian Water until 2028, enhancing actuator maintenance and support across the region. This partnership focuses on rapid response services and training for Anglian Water staff.

Drought status has been declared in several regions across the UK, including parts of South West and East of England, due to prolonged dry weather. The National Drought Group is coordinating efforts to manage water resources and mitigate impacts.
