Environment Agency Tenders £1.5 bn Flood Defence Framework Contract

The Environment Agency has gone out to tender with a contract for a programme of capital investment and improvement works for flood defence assets to replace the current national Water and Environment Management Frameworks worth an estimated £1.5 billion.The Agency is looking to appoint consultants and contractors to a new Collaborative Delivery Framework - BAM Nuttall, Galliford Try, Jackson, JN Bentley, Van Oord and Volker Stevin are among contractors on the existing framework.The contract is being tendered in two Lots for Professional Services and Programme Delivery respectively. Both lots will be split into 6 geographical areas and will operate within local collaborative delivery teams. Tenderers will only be permitted to win a maximum of 2 geographical areas.The consultants’ role under Professional Services includes:Appraisal and design of capital works for fixed and active assetsAsset structural condition inspections and structural intrusive surveysDesign and consultancy servicesProject appraisal servicesEngineering surveys and other investigationsEnvironmental and engineering design of worksDesign of compensatory habitat creation schemesReservoir inspectionIncident management supportSupply chain managementDevelopment of the forward programme beyond the framework duration.
