Wolseley Infrastructure received a further shipment of large diameter butt fusion equipment. In February. Demand is outstripping supply in some areas and so investment in more McElroy equipment was vital. The majority of the new equipment has been placed on mid – long term contracts immediately. As such the Fusion Hire division of Wolseley Infrastructure is already seeking to add more. The equipment has been placed on hire from Scotland to the southeast of England. The technical teams have all had updated training on the new equipment to ensure that nationwide support is available wherever its required.

As well as equipment Wolseley Infrastructure has partnered with Electrosteel to place significant amounts of red ductile stock around the branch network. The aim of this is to move stock closer to customers, reducing lead times and delivery costs. All of the associated products and materials have been boosted too in order to support this. AVK valves, Denso and Viking Johnson stock has all been increased. Wolseley Infrastructure were already the largest stockholder nationwide, but the new initiative has gone up a level to ensure customers have unrivalled access to vital infrastructure product lines. The new H29 facility just off junction 29A of the M1 has also had stock boosted to support the branch network with non-core items.
Confusion in the marketplace regarding DWI certification of barrier pipe and service pipe has caused contractors, Water Utility businesses and NAV operators issues. Wolseley Infrastructure has a technical department within the Fusion Utilities pillar that is monitoring the situation closely. All impacted stock has been blocked and is being returned – simultaneously DWI approved stock has been increased across the branch network and again at H29 to spoke to the network as required.
It’s a very busy time and you can be assured that Wolseley Infrastructure, across all of its pillars is making itself as robust as possible to ensure customers and strategic partners have the best availability possible nationwide and all to the correct certification and specification.
