Water Breakthrough Challenge 1 – Winners announced: I’m excited to share the details of the winning entries of the first Water Breakthrough Challenge. Nine initiatives are sharing in £36 million, with projects ranging from creating hydrogen energy from wastewater, to supporting the restoration of English rivers.

Water Breakthrough Challenge 2 – Coming soon: Entries to the second Breakthrough Challenge will be opening in just a couple of weeks, on 11 October 2021 with £35 million available through two streams of funding available for innovative projects which deliver benefits for customers, society and the environment and are aligned with Ofwat’s five strategic innovation themes. A full programme materials (including entry forms, terms & conditions, and innovator handbooks) will be published when entries are open, in the meantime you can read a blog summarising the main changes.
