Morrison Utility Services’ Yorkshire Team Achieves Three Million Hours RIDDOR Free

Morrison Utility Services (MUS) recently announced that its Yorkshire Water contract team has achieved over three million hours worked without a RIDDOR reportable injury incident. This significant health and safety milestone means that the MUS Yorkshire Water team has not had a reportable injury incident for over 16 months.

From Hitchin to Milan – Morrison Utility Services celebrates a record breaking achievement for tRIIO JV

Morrison Utility Services (MUS), has announced that its tRIIO joint venture (MUS and Skanska UK working on behalf of Cadent) has achieved a record-breaking figure of over 1,100km of gas mains replaced and abandoned over the last 12 months. The recorded total is equal to the distance between tRIIO’s depot in Hitchin, Hertfordshire to Milan, Italy. Over 1,000km of the mains replaced and abandoned was tier 1 (8 inches and below).

Thames Water CEO – leaves the company

Thames Water announced on Friday (24th May 2019) that Steve Robertson is stepping down as Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect.

Mr Robertson will remain an employee until 30 June to ensure an orderly transition, working with Ian Marchant, who will serve as Interim Executive Chairman until a new Chief Executive is appointed. A search process is underway to find a replacement Chief Executive. Mr Marchant has been Independent Chairman since January 2018.

Morrison Utility Services Launches Bespoke Risk assessment App for Operational Teams

Morrison Utility Services (MUS), the UK ’s largest dedicated utility service provider and a part of M Group Services, has developed a new risk assessment app that will enable its people in the field to conduct safety assessments directly from their smartphones and tablet devices.

The bespoke app features pre-loaded hazard and control lists that can be applied to works taking place across the company’s gas, water and electricity contracts. Skanska UK to be carbon neutral by 2045, including the supply chain

A new carbon reduction target has been announced by Skanska UK, which includes cutting all direct and supply chain emissions.

The goal is for Skanska UK’s portfolio of projects to be carbon neutral by 2045.

The main target is supported by a number of intermediate goals.

By 2030, the objective is to cut total emissions by 50 per cent of 2010 level.

Also by 2030, Skanska UK aims to cut its carbon intensity to 130, from the 2010 level of 351. Carbon intensity measures the amount of emissions, in tonnes of CO2 equivalent gases, for each £1 million of revenue. …
