Future Water Association, the Perfect Business Platform
Pontoonworks provides solutions for working on water and supplies to businesses operating within the water sector, including the major Utility Companies, Environment Agency, Canal & River Trust, Geotech, and several construction contractors.
Since joining Future Water Association, the business has reached the finals of Water Dragons, expanded its business network and been able to raise awareness of the benefits of their product range to decision makers within the water sector.
As they come to the end of their first year of membership, Kate Brunt, National Account Manager for Pontoonworks, talks to us about her experience of being a member of Future Water Association.
Why did you join Future Water Association?
Historically, the water sector has always done things the same way, but as new innovations come to market, such as our unique interlocking platform system, it is important to educate people on how their businesses can benefit from doing things differently.
As a business, one of the biggest challenges we face is getting our product in front of the right audience without spending thousands on PR and advertising. On our own it can be difficult to be heard within the sector, but the events organised by the association brings businesses and decision makers together.
We were also very interested in taking part in the Water Dragons competition as we felt it was a unique initiative being so specific to the water industry and as such a great opportunity for us.
Participating in Water Dragons
We decided to enter the 2018 heats for Water Dragons and were rewarded with a place in the final. The competition provided a fantastic platform to present our product to key decision makers and outline the business case for using our products in front of a captive and relevant audience.
We are looking forward to taking part in the final later this year.
Would you recommend joining Future Water Association?
Definitely. Future Water Association brings suppliers from the water industry together and collectively we can be heard. It has certainly opened doors for us.
We have been members for about a year and attend as many meetings and events as we can. It is definitely the case that the more you put into your membership, the more you benefit.
