Future Water is hosting an event, as part of the Northumbrian Water Innovation Festival  exploring the “how we develop an IP and Procurement framework that supports new ideas, new companies and new technology coming into the water sector?”

Work by Future Water, supported by Clarivate Analytics and work undertaken by the OECD, shows that ‘Innovation Intensity’ as measured through patent and IP activity, is weak in the water sector, the UK lagging behind many other countries. However, in terms of ideas and thinking the water sector is producing some creative solutions!

How can the creative solutions be taken forward? Is it possible to develop an approach to IP and Procurement Frameworks that support a much greater level of ‘innovation intensity’? What role can regulation play as an enabler?
