Flow Photo Touring Exhibition – National Waterways Museum, Gloucester
6th June 2019 - 13th July 2019
The exciting collaboration between Future Water Association and the Canal & River Trust, reaches its next phase as a selection of over 30 images entered into the national ‘Flow Photo’ competition are set to go on display.
Hundreds of entries were received into the national photography competition which challenged photographers of all ages and abilities to raise awareness and encourage debate, about all aspects of water in the environment, including canals and waterways.
Tim Eastop, Arts and Culture Partner at Canal & River Trust said “The Trust is very pleased to be the charity partner for the Flow Photo competition, exhibition and residency. The competition has helped inspire more people from diverse backgrounds to get down to our rivers and canals. With a camera or smart phone to hand the participants have experienced the waterways in fresh, creative ways. They’ve captured the great sense of variety, enjoyment and wellbeing to be gained from being near water and waterways. The resulting exhibitions at our National Waterways Museums in Ellesmere Port and Gloucester Docks will reveal through the lens how life is better by water.”
Paul Horton added “Water is critical to the economy and the environment. Understanding how water interacts with us and our environment is essential and with Flow Photo the aim is to stimulate thinking about how we view water whilst increasing engagement with the public. Shaping the future of the water sector is core for the association and we are very pleased to be partnering with Canal & River Trust and Parker Harris on this exciting initiative”
Shortlisted works will also be exhibited in June at the National Waterways Museum, Ellesmere Port
