Dr James Shucksmith

Senior Lecturer of Water Engineering at the University of Sheffield

Dr James Shucksmith is a Senior Lecturer of Water Engineering at the University of Sheffield. His research interests focus on the hydrodynamics of flooding and water quality/transport processes in the context of urban drainage networks and river systems as well as subsequent interactions.

Applications include model development/validation and the real time control of water infrastructure. He currently leads EPSRC and Innovate UK funded projects in conjunction with UK water companies focused on using real time data and models to inform infrastructure operation.

He is also a co-director of the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Water Infrastructure and Resilience.
