Hydraulic Modelling of Urban Drainage Systems - COP Published

Article Date: 9th November 2017

CIWEM Urban Drainage Group has published during its Autumn Conference, a new Code of Practice for the Hydraulic Modelling of Urban Drainage Systems. This replaces previous good practice guidance dating from 2002. The Code of Practice provides good practice guidance to organisations commissioning and developing hydraulic models of urban drainage systems used for planning and design. Significant investment hinges on the quality and robustness of these models and hence they influence how customers benefit from urban drainage systems now and in the future. As we look to provide sustainable, resilient and adaptable urban drainage systems in the 21st Century we will be evermore reliant on models and our understanding of their provenance and purpose. The Code of Practice is a significant contribution to this goal.
