Water Sector Innovation Masterclass

12 September @ 8:00 am - 13 September @ 5:00 pm

12-13 September & 17-18 October 2018

Challenges and needs drive the UK Water Sector. The need to meet regulatory standards, the need to reduce leakage, the need to meet higher expectations and keep water affordable.

The challenge is delivering these needs, whilst increasing customer engagement, coping with climate change, increasing urbanisation and being increasingly resilient.

With a view to meeting these challenges and needs, Future Water Association, in conjunction with Sheffield University, Anglian Water, Severn Trent and Southern Water, have designed a 4-day, sector specific, Innovation Masterclass. The Masterclass will focus on understanding water market needs, creating and increasing visibility of new ideas, whilst also guiding delegates how to lead and engage their teams on the innovation journey.

The Masterclass has been designed for anyone working in the water sector who wants to spark creative thinking and accelerate implementation of innovation and ideas.

Over the course of 4 days the Masterclass will offer ample opportunity for networking across the sector, in both formal and informal settings. It will also provide the ideal environment for those working within the supply chain, water companies and academics to share their challenges and achievements, promoting the benefits of effective collaboration.

Endorsed by three of the UK’s leading water companies, the Masterclass is delivered at a state of the art training facility at Sheffield University. The Masterclass comprises of two sessions, each lasting two days. A month in between the two-day sessions, means that delegates can put elements of their training into practice before completing the Masterclass.

Einstein said that nothing happens until something moves. What if your competitors move first? What if you’re stuck in the past? What if your client moves the goalposts?

  • Water companies are moving. Maybe not as quickly as they would like, but they are moving.
  • Ofwat is moving and has stated that innovation is not a ‘nice to have’, it is a ‘critical enabler’.
