Cyber Security Event - Data Security & Resilience Risk - 27 September, 2017

Resilience is critical to how the water sector functions and delivers ever greater performance with a defined cost envelope.

Resilience and optimal performance are underpinned by data, data which ensures the operations are fully understood. With 80% of the data now flowing through the water sector having being generated in the past three years, what information do we have and how can we get the 'most out of our data'.

This need for better understanding is driving ever more data communication, from assets, information centres, A.I. systems etc. The rewards of reaching optimal performance are huge, however the risks are also ‘huge’ in terms of data management.

Cyber security is firmly on the agenda:

  • Defra has issued Water Sector Cyber Security Strategy
  • Water UK has produced ‘Cyber Security Principles for the Water Industry’
  • Drinking Water Inspectorate has published reporting requirements for the Water Utilities

The Water Sector supply chain by delivering over 70% of the Water Utility projects, works and systems, is at the heart if not the centre of the new data world.

How well prepared are you?

Join Future Water Association at an exclusive workshop with Defra, Water Utilities, and the National Cyber Security Centre to discuss what preparedness looks like and how you can get ready.

The workshop will include a ‘Development of an Action Plan’ session facilitated by the former GCHQ advisor to Government and Defra, Richard Bach.

As part of the day results from an industry wide Cyber Security survey being developed with Waterbriefing will be presented.

We are looking at a very focused '30' attendees from the sector to really drive home some core principles around the subject.

Costs to attend:

Member Rate £99.00 + VAT

Non-Member Rate - £125.00 + VAT

Limited availability - early booking is recommended
